You Left Without Me

You grabbed your keys.
Didn’t say my name.
And just… walked out like I wasn’t invited.

SESSION NOTE

Exclusion sensitivity with attachment response.

THE SESSION

I watch everything you do.
So when you get ready and don’t include me, I notice immediately.

Shoes on. Phone. Keys.
No leash. No glance. No “come on.”

From your side, it’s normal.
From mine, it’s confusing.

Because sometimes I go with you.
Sometimes I don’t.
There’s no clear rule… just a feeling that I might be left behind.

So I follow you closer. I watch harder.
I try to read the moment before it happens.

And when you walk out without me, it’s not just the door closing.
It’s the sudden shift from “we” to “just you.”

I’m left standing there, mid-connection, trying to understand what changed.

Underneath it, I’m not upset about missing the trip.
I’m reacting to the unpredictability.

Because when I don’t know when I’m included,
every exit feels like a question.

WHAT YOUR DOG IS REALLY SAYING

“I don’t need to go every time… I just need to understand when I’m part of it.”

COZYMD RATING

Stress Level: 7/10

COZYMD TREATMENT PLAN

Create a clear, consistent signal for when your dog is coming with you and when they’re not. This could be as simple as grabbing the leash or using a specific phrase before you leave. When they’re staying home, keep your exit calm and predictable so it doesn’t feel like a sudden shift. Giving them something steady—like a favorite chew or cozy resting spot—can help them settle into the routine.

CLOSING

It’s not about going with you… it’s about not being left guessing.
