You only need a putty knife or trowel to apply it and some water to clean up afterwards. In a few hours your patch will set, and in a day or so, it will cure (the exact timing depends on factors like atmospheric temperature and humidity). It works on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. For cracks and spalls deeper than 1/4-in., two or more applications should be made.
